Curriculum Updates
- Ma Liping Chinese Track: Continuing to provide the highest level of Chinese training in Colorado for students who are ready for a challenge!
- Happy Bilingual Chinese Track: The curriculum combines Easy Steps to Chinese with HSK materials and provides level-appropriate instruction based on students’ ages and Chinese proficiency levels. Classes emphasize both fun and practical language use, using games, stories, situational conversations, cultural activities, and other interactive “learning through play” methods to inspire students’ interest in Chinese and strengthen their listening, speaking, reading, writing, and real-life communication skills. The curriculum is also aligned with the HSK Chinese Proficiency Test system, allowing students who wish to take the HSK to prepare for the appropriate test level. The bilingual classes are primarily designed for students from bilingual and American families who are interested in Chinese language and culture. Through a Chinese Conversation Corner, one-on-one speaking partners, and on- and off-campus cultural activities, students will have more opportunities to speak Chinese and apply what they learn in real-life situations.
- Enrichment Classes (for Adults and Children): Chinese classical/folk dance, Guzheng, Chinese calligraphy and painting, flower arrangement, debate, math enrichment, youth basketball, volleyball, recitation and choir, and more. Our instructors have professional or advanced training and extensive experience in their respective fields. For example, the StepIntoMelody Dance Troupe has won multiple Platinum, Championship, and other major awards at international and national dance competitions; our Taekwondo instructor is a former competition champion, holds a high-level black belt, and has coached students to win numerous awards; and our Latin dance instructor has won multiple gold awards in professional ballroom dance competitions in the United States.
- HSK: Denver Chinese School is officially designated as an HSK Chinese Proficiency Test Center, providing one-stop services including registration, test preparation, proctoring, and on-site testing. During our first HSK test last year, 25 DCS students participated, and after receiving test preparation through the school, all students passed with high scores, achieving a 100% pass rate. We welcome both DCS students and members of the broader community who are interested in Chinese language learning or HSK testing to contact us for more information and registration.

- The first week of every class is a FREE TRIAL! You do not need to register, pay tuition, or purchase textbooks in advance. Simply come to school at 3:00 PM on August 16 and go directly to the classroom for a free trial. Once you find the right class, you can then complete registration and payment.
- All students from new families receive a 30% discount on all courses, including both Chinese and enrichment classes.
- Referral Discount: For each new student family you refer to DCS, the referring family will receive an additional $100 discount.
- Sibling Discount: If multiple students from the same family attend classes at this campus, each additional student beginning with the second student will receive a $10 discount. For example, a family with two students receives a $10 discount, and a family with three students receives a $20 discount.
- The above discounts may be combined, up to the full amount of tuition due. The minimum tuition due is $0.
Textbook Purchase, Registration, Classes & Payment Process
- Chinese textbooks will be available for purchase at the HR campus front desk beginning at 2:30 PM on August 16. Since many students will be purchasing books, please arrive early. Ma Liping Chinese textbooks contain a one-time-use access code on the inside cover, so once sold, they cannot be returned or exchanged. We apologize for any inconvenience. Please see the payment methods below. A User ID is not required when paying for textbooks.
- You may add, change, or drop classes through the online registration system. If your student’s course selection changes, please be sure to make the corresponding changes in the online registration system; otherwise, your account may be considered to have an outstanding balance.
- If your family already has an account, please do not register again. Simply log in and select your courses. If you have forgotten your password, enter your username (your email address) and click “Forgot Password.” An automated email will be sent to your registered email address with your password information. If your family has never registered before, please click “Register.” After registration, your family will receive a very important User ID.
- Please try all the classes you are interested in and finalize all courses for your family before selecting them in the online registration system. Then make payment based on the balance shown in your account, because processing refunds or keeping track of multiple additional payments can be very complicated. Please see the payment information below.
- The online registration system includes a “Family Volunteer Service Preference” option. If the box is checked, it means your family is willing to participate in school volunteer service during this academic year, and the school may contact you when volunteer help is needed. If you uncheck the box, it means your family chooses not to participate in volunteer service this academic year and agrees to pay a $20 Volunteer Support Fee.
How to Pay Tuition:
The tuition payment deadline is September 18. Please confirm all courses before paying the amount shown in the online registration system. There are three payment methods. Regardless of method, please provide your family’s User ID, or your payment may be lost in the system and cannot be traced.
- Online Payment via Zelle: send to chen.liang@denverchineseschool.org and include your User ID in the notes. Note: Zelle may have a transfer limit per transaction.
